Dear cyberfriends and art lovers,
just a few words to our webpresence here at www.cyberbohemia.net.
Cyberbohemia is an international art gallery, using the most advanced virtual world technology.
Our main focus is to present art in virtual 3D worlds. The possiblilities of virtual worlds are fantastic. We combine all multimedia possibilities of modern computers in a virtual, natural space, where you can walk around and interact just like in "real life". We highly recommend you to visit Cyberbohemia's 3D gallery.
This webpresence of the Cyberbohemia gallery is just a shadow of the beauty of our virtual world gallery. The quality and number of the pictures and artists exhibited "inworld" is much better than here in our webbased gallery. This webbased gallery is for the convenience of all those art lovers in the world, who are not (yet) technically able to get inworld in virtual worlds.
Instructions, how you can visit our virtual world gallery can be found here, or when you click on "How to visit us" in the navigation bar.
Virtual worlds are developing fast, so we expect during the year 2011, that you can visit our virtual world gallery right through this webpage. No need to install special software or create an avatar.
If you like to visit our 3D virtual world gallery "Cyberbohemia", and you need some assistance, or if you like to get a individual guided tour through our gallery, please send a mail to webmaster (at) cyberbohemia (dot) net. We will get into contact with you as fast as possible, and arrange everything for your personal virtual world experience.
Love and light

some news
Dear cyberfriends,
some small improvements of Cyberbohemia:
We now have a new CNS (Cyberbohemia navigation system), that can be used to directly teleport to certain places on Cyberbohemia. Now it is a slowly rotating Obelisk, which is
pretty user-friendly, and its design fits much better in the ambience than the old green sign.
We have put up our own audio streamserver, so we are prepared for coming events which require a lifestream.
Our birthday party is scheduled for 25.09.10. Julius and I will get together in RL for the first time (!), and i'm really curious how a 2 years friendship in VR will be in RL... For the birthday event, we plan to make a life vernissage of Rolf Erhardt's exhibition "Tableau pictures" and an "underground" afterhour party with some nice trancy dancemusic in Cyberbohemia-The underworld with a life audiostream by DJ Galen

Video of H.J. Kaeppeler's exhibition "Eschatological Landscapes"
Dear art lovers,
in this new Cyberbohemia video, you can see H.J. Kaeppeler's exhibition "Eschatological Landscapes" in our gallery.
The whole exhibition, with all pictures, can be visited inworld.
Special thanks go to Mr. Kaeppeler, who was the first artist, that made an exhibition in our virtual gallery. This was about one year ago, when our gallery was still located in the OpenLifeGrid. Soon after the exhibition, which took place in a wonderfully designed japanese garden sim (Dreamrezzer Island), we moved our gallery to the OSgrid.
If you like to have a printed catalogue of the exhibition, or one of his high quality books, please contact us.

great projects coming
Hello dear Cyberfriends,
with our new video production, I've entered a new, fascinating world. The possibilities of experimental machinimas are endless; the combination of video and virtual worlds ends just at the border of human imagination...
A very exciting outlook for me is the new connection to the Akasha project. This wonderful artist does very deep research in tunes, waves, harmony, all based on mathematics and harmonical theories. My english is not good enough to write an essence of his knowledge here in this blog, but you can read a lot about his project on his website www.akashaproject.de, and you can find some very good videos when you browse youtube for "Akasha Project".
Well, what he creates in audible wavelengths, we can do in visible wavelengths. Every tune can be transposed into a visible wavelength. Every tune equals a specific color, so basically music can be transposed into colors.
Akasha transposes different frequencies (tunes) into music; for example the frequency of the earths year, or the frequency of the hydrogen molecule. This complex method results in wonderful music, and much more, in music that can create physical and mental effects. Just because they are in tune with the molecules of your body.
The next step for us will be to make a video, where the colors fit to the music; where the colors of the video are the transposed tunes of the sound.
Our video -"a psychedelic dream" was made with the different environmet settings offered by the viewers windlight settings. I have used Akasha's track "blue mercury" as the underlying sound. In this first step, the sound was just added, but i didn't take care, if the colors are in tune with the music. Anyway, its a wonderful combination.
In one of the coming projects, i will take care of the correct fitting of sound/color. I'm really looking forward to it, I am myself very curious about the resulting effects. For sure, it will greatly enhance the experience for the viewing person.
On the other side, the preparations for Rolf Erhardt's pictures are at work. We finished the gallery for his "tableau pictures", we will now add his "ghost pictures". Then we have to add his "stone pictures", his portraits, his oil paintings and his aquarelle pictures.... soooo much work, but such an exciting work.
Enough for now, happy gridding,
love and light

New experimental video
Hello dear cybertravellers,
today i proudly announce our newest video on youtube:
I made this video with my new pointer device 3Dconnexion SpacePilot Pro. Its a really amazing piece of hardware, a great tool for producing videos and also a totally new way to experience virtual worlds. The flycam option of the SL viewer is just fantastic.
I can spend hours and hours just flying around in the cyberspace and enjoying all the amazing views with the camera.
The music of the new video is from the Akasha Project, which we recently found on youtube (www.akashaproject.de). I hope we can get into direct contact with the Akasha Project and maybe we can combine our skills to create new fantastic sound/videoprojects in the future.

Prayer for health
Hello dear friends,
today I have to tell you a sad news; Rolf had a stroke and is in hospital at the moment. As far as I know, fortunately it was a minor stroke, and he probably will recover very good.
Rolf, our prayers and energies are all with you, all the best wishes, my friend ....
Currently, i do a rework of Cyberbohemia's galleries. On Laputa, i create a new, modern gallery space. I recently discovered the inside part of Laputa's buildings, and actually, its a wonderful, modern piece of architecture, with smoothly curved walls, round roofs etc. I'm sure, this will be a great place for some nice artwork.
Mr. Huebners pictures, that were in the center gallery of Laputa, will move open air on one of Laputa's terraces, and Rolfs pictures will be put up in the center gallery. I found a nice "spacy" design for the gallery which is a perfect synthesis of futuristic space style and ancient architecture. The view of Laputa's archs and walls through a transparent spacewall is amazing, I just love it.
When the exhibition is put up, it's time to think about an official opening event of Cyberbohemia. This is long overdue, but I'm sure we will have it in the near future. Hopefully, Rolf will recover very soon, so we can make a life event, where you can talk directly with us.
So much for now, love and light

First voicechat session
Hello dear Cyberfriends,
today I can confirm, that voicechat with Freeswitch and opensim is really possible.
I've put up a freeswitch server a while ago, but I never really could test it. I made a test with TonyB where it worked for a minute, but i got disconnected very soon, beacuse my clients internet connection was too slow.
But yesterday, Julius and I had a very long voicechat session, and it worked really good. After some starting difficulties (a restart of Freeswitch and the region helped), we had a clear and good quality voice session. Sometimes, the connection was interrupted for a second, so some sentences could not be clearly understood, but to summarize it: it was a great experience.
Julius an I work together for more than a year (i think it must be 18 months ago, when we first met), and we never heard our voices before. For me it was a fantastic experience to hear his voice, it gives you a much deeper felling of connectedness.
If someone needs help putting up his/her own freeswitch server, I happily help. We can take my config files as templates, they do work.
Right now, we do many experiments in how art can be exhibited in virtual worlds. So much is possible, and we only scratched the surface of what is possible. Until today, we made our exhibition in a "natural" environment. The cooperation with Rolf Erhardt's neosurrealistic paintings leads us to explore surralistic ways to put up a exhibition. On Cyberbohemia-The Underworld you can get a first impression of our experiments.

Welcome area redesigned and first Erhardt pictures
Dear Cybertravellers,
the welcome area on Cyberbohemia is currently redesigned. We move the welcome area from the flying castle of Laputa down to the ground. Julius Balogh made a very nice building for the new welcome area, and also the gardening outside the building. It looks very promising; Julius does a great work.
Yesterday, I received the first pictures of Rolf Erhardt's collection of pictures for Cyberbohemia. We decided to put up the pictures in the cave of Cyberbohemia-The Underworld. I already started to rework the pictures and resize them.
There is usually always a problem with photographed paintings. If the photographing of paintings is not done really professional, there are always problems with contrasts, colors, shadows, and especially reflections from the camera's flashlight. I have the impression that most "professional" photographers out there have no idea how to photograph paintings correctly. I usually have to digitally rework every single picture, and slowly I'm becoming an expert in digital restauration. Sadly, the quality will not be as good, as if the picture were photographed in the right way.
Also, I'm working on new methods for a good presentation of the pictures. The idea is to make a path in the cave, where visitors will walk through the highlights of the cave combined with Rolfs pictures. Also I'm working on a concept to present some pictures in total darkness.
The next great challenge is to develop a new technique for presenting Rolfs "ghost pictues". He created many pictures in a painting style, where you can see the pictures only, if you stand right in front of them. From the sides, you can see nothing than the grey canvas. This is done by painting with very low contrasts and only black/white or grey/white. I already experimented with different techniques, but none of them lead to real success.
If you have an idea, how this could be done, let me know

New exhibition in the Observatory and detail improvements
Hello dear Cybertravellers,
yesterday, after a spontaneous photo shooting session, we decided to put up a small, but fine exhibition of three pictures in cyberbohemia's Observatory.
You can find the Observatory on the highest mountain in the northern part of Cyberbohemia.
The exhibition is called "Marbelous world" and contains photographs by Susanne Sindlinger.
A lot of work is going on all over Cyberbohemia. A new welcome area and many improvements (mainly in details) are done these days, so beware of falling rocks...and always wear a helmet
It also makes me pretty proud, that in the next OSGazette, there probably will be a small article about Cyberbohemia. It clearly shows me that we already have some attention in OSGrid, and that our concept of peace, beauty and art is accepted and welcome.
Actually, a few days ago, i decided to visit SL again, after a very long time. Two things I could instantly notice. The first thing (the positive thing) were the thousands of green dots on the map. Wow, really amazing how many people are in this world. Which brings me directly to the second observation...the major part of SL is ugly. Pure ugliness, lack of imagination, phantasy, and absolutely no space for beauty. This is no offence to the builders in SL, it only clearly tells me, that money leaves no space for beauty. Money is the death of beauty and creativity.
Its a deep concept question behind that. Cyberbohemia, for example, is done purely for beauty and creativity. Its my hobbie to maintain the servers and everything needed, and the costs are affordable, even for 14 sims. Second life is a different concept. The costs are high to run a sim, and people need to run a business to cover the costs and get an income. This results on most sims in basic structures, low prims, and many shops. Only few beautiful sims are left which are run by enthusiasts who can afford the high prices in SL.
So the virtual worlds are a good picture of our society. Compare the beauty of a modern shopping mall with the beauty of a nice garden; then you have the difference between SL and the open grids.
Good to have both alternatives. One for business, one for beauty. Well, I've made my choince, and I hope, one day people will discover OSGrid as a place of beauty and creativity, where they can spend some time far away from commerce. Hopefully, one day, OSGrid will have as many (or even more) green dots on the map, so people can easily socialize. Cyberbohemia will work hard to help increasing the number of visitors in OSGrid ...

Back in the cyberspace
Hello dear cyberfriends,
after a few days of my forced brake of the internet, I'm back online. It's really amazing how lonely and cut-off from the world one can feel without internet access. Even the feeling of sitting in front of the PC is different. Without internet, the PC is just a lifeless machine; with internet, it has a certain feeling of connectedness. Hard to describe, but it makes definitely a difference.
Usually, I use the PC for eMail, webradio, surfing, and, of course, being inworld on Cyberbohemia. Offline, I use the PC for processing images or making music. The time for PC games is long gone; although I love the graphics and action of modern PC games (especially 3D games; Half-Life 2 is still my favourite).
But the forced break had one big advantage, I was able to coordinate our Dreamrezzer work on Cyberbohemia. We now have a great concept for the future, and although most of the Dreamrezzers know each other only virtually, we now got "closer together".
So the goal for the Dreamrezzers in 2010 is to make Cyberbohemia one of the nicest places and the best gallery in the cyberspace. That might sound a bit enthusiastic, but the Dreamrezzers are a community with extraordinary people. If each adds his/her skills to the project, the whole project can become something really big.
I'm sure, for you, dear visitors, it will be an amazing development, and my personal goal is, to give each visitor his/her personal eye-opener. Therefore, we will combine our building and multimedia skills with Neo-surrealistic art to create new, holistic artwork. Paintings, videos, sound, sculpties, everything can and will be combined to create new artwork and places of peace and harmony.
The whole process will be slow, good things need time. But you can take part of the development, I will inform you here in the blog about all new important steps. And the Dreamrezzers are not a closed community, so you are always welcome to get in contact with us, if you like to add your skills and heart to the project.
I wish you a wonderful day,
love and light

after a few days of my forced brake of the internet, I'm back online.
